The Stranger and the Boy Terry Faust 3-17-10
The stranger only met the boy , he never knew the man That I would come to know, as the number one fan I tell you this story, as it was told to me Through the eyes of the boy, so clear I could see Not far from his home, was a little country store A big car pulled up one day, unlike he'd seen before Out stepped the stranger, his wife and a little girl First thing through the boy's mind, was man.., what in the world? He ran in the store, just to see the folks The stranger looked him up and down, and said, "Boy, you want a coke?" He didn't know it then, but his life was forever changed By the impression that the stranger made Years later he drove a caddy, to a downtown address Gave the keys to the stranger's Mother, turned around and left He didn't talk to the stranger, not knowing what would come to pass That the next trip the car would make, would be the stranger's last He dedicated his life, to the strangers memory And the care of his things, for all the world to see I never knew the stranger, but I share his memory when I can As it was shared with me, by Hank's number one fan.
